Dubbo Field
Nats are currently working on a number of projects, reviewed every 6
months.
For 2010,
these will be:
-
Dubbo
Birds in Backyards Brochure - a brochure was
produced by DFNCS
for distribution to Dubbo residents. This aims to raise the
community profile of urban and semi-urban bird species, including
threatened species. Supported by the Birds
in Backyards organisation, Birds Australia, Australian Museum,
and sponsored by the Central
West CMA with brochure distribution assistance from
Dubbo City Council.
-
Dubbo Enviro forum 2010 - an
event is planned in September that will focus on one part of
environmental awareness in and around Dubbo. The tentative
area of focus is the aquatic ecosystems (Rivers, wetlands) .
-
Flora and Fauna of Dubbo Booklet. This will include new Flora
and fauna information and update the flora
and fauna parts of the Dubbo Field Naturalists
out of print publication "Natural History of the Dubbo
Region".
-
Revision
of the Dubbo Bird Routes Brochure - a revision of the brochure is
planned.
-
Glossy Black-cockatoo
Surveys - DFNCS members are involved in an ongoing survey of Glossy
Black-cockatoo numbers in Goonoo Forest. This has been occurring
since 1994 and will continue to be supported by the club.
